KITTERY (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- An investigation into a home invasion in Kittery resulted in two arrests, and police said more are expected.
Several intruders overpowered a 26-year-old man who lives at 41 Route 1 Bypass on Tuesday night. Police said the attackers beat the man with a blunt object causing facial injuries serious enough to send him to the hospital.
Based on their analysis of the situation, police concluded the incident had its roots in a dispute over drugs. They also learned one of the attackers was known to the victim.
Police acted on the information they collected by arresting Brittany Adrien of Kittery on charges of robbery and aggravated assault.
The investigation broadened on Thursday with the issuance of an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Tyler Fernald. Police in Rochester, N.H. arrested him that afternoon. He was charged in New Hampshire as a fugitive from justice and remains in jail pending an extradition hearing that will decide if he will be transferred into the custody of Maine law enforcement.
