PORTLAND, Maine — UPDATE: Police say no charges are expected in this pedestrian crash. They say the driver had a green light and attempted to swerve to miss the pedestrian who was crossing the road in an unmarked area (not a crosswalk). The pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Several police cruisers, a fire truck, and an ambulance were seen near the intersection of Franklin and Congress streets in Portland at about 5 p.m. Saturday.
Portland Police say a female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and suffered some injuries.
The scene was cleared by 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Portland Police say more details are expected to be released on Monday.
