One dead, two injured in Milford crash

Police are still investigating after one man was left dead in an early morning crash.

MILFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - One person is dead and two are injured after a single car accident early this morning in Milford.

Police say the car hit a telephone pole on the 800 block of County Road, rolled over multiple times, and lit on fire.

The call came in around 1 AM Wednesday morning. When police arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

One person was pronounced dead on the scene after being thrown from the vehicle.

The other two were taken Eastern Maine Medical Center – one of them is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

All three passengers were adult males.

Police are still investigating the accident.

They did say that the car hit an 8,100 pound boulder and managed to move it 8 feet – this will help them determine how fast the car was going and hopefully find a cause to the accident.

Officials say that they plan to release the names of those involved in the crash on Thursday.
