BUXTON, Maine — A man from Old Orchard Beach was killed in a single-vehicle crash that happened Thursday morning in Buxton.

Just after 5 a.m., Buxton police and fire personnel responded to a "serious" crash at the intersection of Beech Plains Road and Boynton Road, according to a news release from the Buxton Police Department.

Police said 28-year-old Gage Parsons of Old Orchard Beach was headed north on Beech Plains Road when he was unable to navigate a sharp corner. The vehicle went off the road and struck a utility pole, knocking wires down across the road.

Parsons had to be extricated from the vehicle and was brought to Maine Medical Center, police said. He died at the hospital from his injuries.

Police said a secondary crash unrelated to the crash involving Parsons happened while crews were responding. Both incidents are under investigation.
