FREEPORT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- We all know Maine and L.L. Bean go hand-in-hand. So in this edition of "Tennyson Tries It" I got a taste of what it's like to work at the retail giant's warehouse, during its busiest time of the year.
L.L. Bean's Director of Fulfillment and Logistics, Wayne Steele, says the company has already shipped about 5.5 million units since Thanksgiving.
"We're doing up to 300,000 units a day," Steele said.
In March, the Order Fulfillment Center received a $ 30 million upgrade. It's a quarter-mile long and houses seven miles of conveyor.
The center is open 24/7 during this "peak" season. I was placed in the packing area, putting items into bags and boxes before sending them to shipping trucks. Watch this episode to see how I made out.
