Cape Elizabeth Middle School 'continues the conversation' on school violence

Cape Elizabeth (NEWS CENTER Maine)-- A national school walkout to protest gun violence in schools was held back on March 14th. 3 months later, Cape Elizabeth Middle School students walked out again. "The slogan today is it's not a moment, it's a movement" said Aela Mansmann, an 8th grader who organized Thursday's curriculum.

The students marched from the Middle School to the High School's football field. Once they gathered, they formed the peace sign and pictures were taken from above and will be sent out to 6 different schools across the country that have encountered gun violence.

"The topic is just kindness... we are moving away from who is the shooter what happened to the shooter and just saying before we even bring in guns, what can we do in the school early intervention wise.." added Mansmann.
