New Hampshire man seriously injured after motorcycle crash in Berwick

The crash happened Saturday night near 149 Long Swamp Road in Berwick.

BERWICK, Maine — A New Hampshire man sustained serious injuries after crashing his motorcycle in a single-vehicle crash in Berwick on Saturday night.

First responders arrived at the scene at 149 Long Swamp Road in Berwick around 7:34 p.m. and found Robert Welch, 48, of Somersworth, New Hampshire, thrown from his motorcycle, according to a press release from the Berwick Police Department.

Police said the 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle "left the roadway" and Welch was ejected from the bike. Welch was then transported to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire, with serious injuries.

The crash is under investigation and being reconstructed by the York Police Department.

Police were also assisted at the scene by the Berwick Fire Department and Stewart's Ambulance.
