(NEWS CENTER) - The writers of My Fair Lady created quite a problem for themselves by making their hero a chauvinistic, condescending jerk. And then they solved the problem by hiring Rex Harrison.
He was born on Mar. 5, 1908. Harrison was so charming as Henry Higgins that viewers forgave him for all of his faults.
His arrogance stemmed from his genius at linguistics. He was so confident in his skills that he bet he could train a lowly flower girl named Eliza Doolittle to impersonate a duchess at a high society ball. But first, he needed to test her out at someplace a little safer.
For today's stumper, where did he send her on her practice run?
a. ballet
b. church social
c. fox hunt
d. horse race

And the answer is...
d. horse race
Eliza was doing fine until the horses rounded the final turn. She got so excited that she forgot both her manners and her accent as she cheered on her horse with a few choice curse words.
