Full moon releases the beast inside Cory

As Cory soaked in the moonbeams, he was overcome by the urge to howl like a werewolf

PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- The beard that Cory Froomkin grew a few months ago was only the beginning of a furry transformation that reached its peak under a rare convergence of lunar conditions.

Cory left the comfy confines of the NEWS CENTER Maine Weather Center to report live from the Eastern Prom in Portland on Wednesday morning. His assignment was to lend his meteorological perspective to the partial eclipse of the combined super, blue and blood moon.

As Cory soaked in the moonbeams, a strange tingling sensation spread over his skin until he was overcome by the urge to rear back his head and bark out a howl that would have made Lon Chaney, Jr. proud.

Lucky for the other spectators who were gathered along the hilltop, Cory reverted to his usual, mild-mannered self as soon as the moon sank beneath the horizon a few minutes later. But had his exposure lasted much longer, we shudder to think of the panic our viewers would have felt to see him sprout fangs and claws live on the air.
