More than 1,300 power outages reported due to structure fire in Piscataquis County

PISCATAQUIS COUNTY, Maine — Versant Power crews are working to restore power after more than 1,300 outages were reported due to a structure fire in Piscataquis County Friday afternoon. 

According to an outage alert from Versant, crews are on their way to restore power to around 1,350 customers in the area of Sebec and Atkinson as a result of the fire. 

People are asked to use caution and remain clear of downed power lines or trees. 

The Dover-Foxcroft Fire Department told NEWS CENTER Maine that multiple crews, including theirs, are currently responding to a two-story commercial building located at 10 Sebec Village Road. No injuries have been reported at this time. 

The Piscataquis County Emergency Management Agency is asking the public to avoid the 4 Corners area in Sebec as emergency crews respond to a fire in the area. 

Please avoid the area of the 4 Corners in Sebec, if possible, as emergency crews are responding to a fire in the area.
