DEXTER, Maine — A herd of cows is safely off the road in Dexter thanks to law enforcement.

Maine State Police said one of its trooper sergeants, Bernie Brunette, spotted several "fugitives from justice" Tuesday on Zions Hill Road.

The group of impromptu drovers was able to get the animals home.
