BIDDEFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine Drug Drug Enforcement Agency have arrested four people for trafficking in schedule drugs (heroin and crack cocaine) in Biddeford.
MDEA say these arrests came following a several month long investigation into the illegal distribution of crack cocaine and heroin from an apartment on Hazel Street in Biddeford. Agents report they received information that a New York man was staying and dealing drugs from that apartment.
Arrested were 20-year-old Raymond Naveo of New York, 33-year-old Corey Harmon of Biddeford, 33-year-old Niaomi Butts of Biddeford, and 20-year-old Celina Rodriguez of New York.
During the investigation, undercover agents purchased crack cocaine from Naveo and Harmon on several occasions.
On November 5, agents determined Raymond Naveo and Niaomi Butts had driven to New York in order to obtain more drugs and return to Biddeford to distribute them.
At around 11:30 p.m. the Maine State Police stopped the vehicle operated by Butts. Butts was arrested for operating a motor vehicle after suspension. Naveo who was a passenger in the vehicle was arrested at the scene. Rodriguez also a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested after she was found to be in possession of 11 grams of heroin. All three were transported to the York County Jail.
At the same time as the traffic stop, agents executed a search warrant at the Biddeford apartment. Agents located Corey Harmon inside and arrested him. A search of the apartment was conducted where approximately 4 grams of heroin was seized along with other items indicative of drug trafficking. The apartment's renter was not present at the time and is not to be involved in the drug distribution. Harmon was transported to the York County Jail.
Bail was set for Naveo at $200,000, Harmon at 100,000, Rodriguez at $10,000 and Butts at $300.00.
On November 9, agents met Butts at the York County Jail as she was being released. Agents had received information that at the time of her arrest for OAS, she was concealing illegal drugs within a body cavity that she was transporting from New York the evening of her arrest. Agents obtained a search warrant for Butts. She was transported to Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford where approximately 38 grams of crack cocaine was seized from Butts.
Butts was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in crack cocaine and transported to the York County Jail. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.
The approximate street value of the seized heroin and crack cocaine is $9,000. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected.
