SEBAGO, Maine — A man crashed into a Sebago home Wednesday morning after apparently falling asleep while driving.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, Cumberland County sheriff's deputies and Sebago fire and EMS personnel responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash into a home on Bridgton Road in Sebago.
Deputies said a 50-year-old man from Bridgton was traveling southbound on Bridgton Road in a 2019 Toyota pickup truck when the crash occurred, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
An investigation into the crash determined he reportedly fell asleep and then went off the road and struck a house, according to the release.
"The single-family residential home was occupied at the time," the release stated. "The homeowner was asleep in a bedroom on the second floor of the residence above the impact location."
The homeowner was not injured, according to the release. The driver suffered minor injuries and was wearing his seatbelt during the crash.
Deputies said speed and alcohol are not considered factors in this crash.
