Maine State Police: Who started the 1989 fire that killed a 14-year-old?

SOUTH PARIS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State police need information on a fire that killed a boy in the early morning of November 3, 1989.

14-year-old Steven O’Neil died from a fire at his home. Police say the eighth-grader helped his step-parents and two younger step-brothers escape the home through a second-story window before he died of smoke inhalation.

An investigation revealed that the fire was set with a flammable liquid and Maine State Police say Steven’s death is a homicide.
