OGUNQUIT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State Police arrested a man who had escaped from a Pennsylvania jail in March on the Maine Turnpike Monday.

Police pulled over a car on the Turnpike around 4 a.m. Monday near the Ogunquit-Wells town line for an expired registration. Derek Lee Black, 34, was a passenger in the car. When questioned, police said he provided a false name. The driver, 26-year-old Mindy Baxter of Bangor, allegedly told the trooper she did not know her passenger's full name.

The trooper arrested Black for failing to give a correct name. An FBI fingerprint check at the York County Jail revealed he was an escapee. Black was in jail on drug charges and police said he disappeared from a hospital in March where he was being treated for a facial cut.

State Police are making arrangements to return him to Pennsylvania, where he faces escape charges.

Baxter was summonsed for operating a vehicle with a restricted license.
