Maine police searching for man who ran off from officers, urging public to lock doors

Sgt. Mark Gahagan with the Caribou Police Department tells NEWS CENTER Maine that police are searching for Breon Stroup in the area of Route 89, Bog Road, Noyes Road, and Grimes Mill Road.
Breon Stroup is from Rhode Island but was in the area visitnng his brother who lives in Caribou, according to police.

(NEWS CENTER Maine) — Police in Caribou are asking the public to be on the lookout for a Rhode Island man who allegedly burglarized a business and then took off on foot.

Sgt. Mark Gahagan with the Caribou Police Department tells NEWS CENTER Maine that police are searching for Breon Stroup in the area of Route 89, Bog Road, Noyes Road, and Grimes Mill Road.

Gahagan says police are asking community members to be diligent about locking their homes and cars while Stroup is still at a large.

Stroup is from Rhode Island but was in the area visiting his brother who lives in Caribou, according to police.

Police are not releasing any other information at this time.

They are asking for the public to call them if they see anything suspicious at (207) 493-3301.
