Northern Light Mercy Hospital, located in Portland, has officially entered into a strategic partnership with the renowned Dana Farber Cancer Institute, based in Boston.
This collaboration aims to elevate cancer treatment and research, ensuring top-notch care for patients across the state.
"We had a vision for where we would like to go, and working with Dana Farber on a multi-year journey has brought us to where we are today," Charlie Therrien said.
After a two-year journey, Mercy Hospital is proud to announce its affiliation with Dana Farber.
Therrien emphasized the commitment to their patients, "Doing as much as we can to keep our care local, expanding our capabilities, and having top-tier expertise from Dana Farber available as needed."
Mercy Hospital now meets all requirements for this partnership, including enhancing medical staff abilities, from crafting chemo compounds to conducting follow-up appointments.
Patients in need of more complex care will now have expedited access to Dana Farber through seamless referrals.
