GARDINER (NEWS CENTER Maine) — A father from Gardiner was closing the curtains for the night when he saw a bright sphere streaking slowly across the sky.
Michael Alden says he called for his wife and kids to come take a look. His kids and he sprinted to their backyard without jackets or shoes to watch it move across the sky.
Alden says neighbors were also outside standing in awe of the mass around 7:23 p.m. on Monday.
The International Space Station passed overhead around 7:34 p.m. and was visible for four minutes. It was also visible at 9:11 p.m. This coincides with the time that Alden and other viewers reported seeing the station.
