LifeFlight honored with international award

The non-profit's Remote Access Project earned the organization the Golden Hour Award

SANFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- LifeFlight of Maine received international recognition by Helicopter Association International.

The non-profit's Remote Access Project earned the organization the Golden Hour Award for locating and evacuating critically ill or injured patients in remote areas of the state. The make-shift landing zones with Maine's first responders are leading the way rescue helicopters are responding across the world.

LifeFlight will add the honor to the list of nearly a dozen international and national accomplishments. LifeFlight is looking into new enhanced vision technology and it is working with the FAA to make high performance routing that ties Maine's islands, hospitals, and communities together.
