Pedestrian who died in Lewiston crash involving a truck has been identified

The 49-year-old was walking in the area of Sabattus and College streets when he was hit by a truck.

PORTLAND, Maine — A pedestrian was fatally injured when he was hit by a truck Monday evening in downtown Lewiston.

Donald Bourget, 49, was near the intersection of Sabattus and College streets at about 7:15 p.m. when he was hit by a truck driven by 58-year-old Stephen Hairston of Lewiston. 

Bourget was brought to the nearby Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he died from his injures. 

The area of the crash was closed Monday night for crash reconstruction but was reopened to traffic by Tuesday morning.
