Phillips is accused of entering an Androscoggin Savings Bank around noon, displaying a note to the teller that demanded money and said he had a weapon, and leaving with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police credited the suspect's quick apprehension to effective collaboration between local law enforcement.

Phillips was taken to Androscoggin County Jail. Bail had not been set as of Wednesday afternoon.
