Guns, hatchet seized as police investigate fight between brothers

Police seized guns and a hatchet as they intervened in a fight involving two brothers in Kittery

KITTERY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Two brothers are accused of threatening each other with dangerous weapons during a fight in Kittery.

Police went to 80 Picott Rd. around 4 p.m. on Friday after being called in to stop a fight. Before they could separate 30-year-old Michael Dugas and 33-year-old Daniel Dugas, officers said a gun had been fired although no one was shot.

The investigation of the scene included the seizure of three handguns with several rounds of ammunition and a hatchet.

Police arrested both brothers. Michael Dugas was charged with domestic violence reckless conduct with a firearm. Daniel Dugas was charged with domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
