NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire in New Gloucester Thursday morning, which authorities say originated in the kitchen.
Located at 95 Pond Road, the house was occupied by a single renter and two dogs, all of which made it out safely without injury, according to New Gloucester Fire Chief Craig Bouchard.
Bouchard said the cause of the fire was the kitchen stove, causing smoke damage to parts of the house. He said the home did have smoke alarms.
Mutual aid from six communities assisted with this incident. No injuries were reported, according to officials.
