GORHAM (NEWS CENTER Maine) --
Hundreds of people including many police officers from Gorham and Falmouth came together Saturday to remember a special member of their forces.
Kimmerly Maxfield-Fearon died at the age of 58 last week after battling the flu which turned into pneumonia.
Saturday -- a celebration of life was held for her at Gorham High School.
Even though Maxfiel-Fearon was never a uniformed officer like her colleague, she was remembered like one for thirty years of service to the Portland, Gorham and Falmouth police departments.
A speaker at the celebration of life also read remarks from Maxfield-Fearon's family.
Her husband, Larry, is a member of Gorham's police force.
