Honor Flight Maine | Dozens of Veterans take trip of a lifetime
Nearly 50 Maine Veterans from across the state are recognized for their service with a trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials honoring the wars they served in.
Honoring Our Veterans
Nearly 50 Veterans from across the state are being escorted to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials honoring the wars they served in. In its fourth year, Honor Flight Maine is dedicated to honoring Veterans by recognizing their sacrifice and providing the weekend-long trip free of charge. The national non-profit Honor Flight Network has brought thousands of servicemen and women from across the country on the journey, and for many it is their first and final time.

A Warm Welcome
For many of the Veterans on the trip, this was their first time visiting the memorials in honor of their fallen comrades. It is also the first time they are receiving the recognition they deserve. A large crowd greeted the caravan at the Baltimore airport applauding them as they got off the plane. Read More

After successfully completing their mission, the Veterans returned home to a massive crowd. At least 100 people, including servicemen, family members and citizens packed the Portland Jetport. For some, it was unlike anything they have ever experienced. Read More
