NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was in town this weekend and made a stop at Sally's Apizza for a slice.
Clinton posted to Instagram, "I was in New Haven only briefly this weekend for a law school reunion, but in this life you make time for the important things. @sallysapizza 🍕💕
The restaurant manager at Sally's in New Haven told FOX61 on Monday that Clinton purchased two mozzarella tomato sauce pizzas, along with clam and potato.
"She was very nice," the manager said.
Clinton attended Yale Law School in 1969, where she served on the Board of Editors of Yale Law Review and Social Action, according to her biography on Whitehouse.gov. During her time there, she met her now husband Bill Clinton. The former president said they met in the library when she strode up to him and said, “If you’re going to keep staring at me, I might as well introduce myself.”
Bill Clinton went on to serve as Governor of Arkansas and was elected as president in 1992. Hillary Clinton served in an advisory capacity and when her husband left office, she was elected U.S. Senator from New York. She is the first first lady elected to the U.S. Senate and the first woman elected statewide in New York.
She went on to serve as U.S. Secretary of State under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013. She went on to run unsuccessfully for president in 2016. She is currently on the faculty of Columbia University.
