PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) – Joe Brennan was Maine’s 70th governor. He is still hale and hearty at the age of 83 and very much a follower of everyday news.
He served in the legislature, as Attorney General, Governor and Congressman from the First District.
Still quick with a quip, he said, “If you had a ring, I had a hat to throw into it. I wasn’t shy about running.”
Brennan’s time as governor was marked by a number of successes for him and his Democratic party.
His received 62% of the vote in 1982, a number which has not been matched since.
