Freezing rain continues to be a concern Sunday. Icy areas will develop as rain moves in, and falls into air that is near or below freezing at the ground.

Sunday morning will start off cloudy with mist, drizzle and areas of dense fog. Icy spots are possible from the overnight rain.

Steadier precipitation starts to move into southern and central Maine during Sunday morning. At this time, temperatures will be very close to freezing. This precipitation may fall in the form of sleet and freezing rain, creating icy conditions.

Temperatures will not rise much during the day. Icy spots may continue into the evening.

The most concerning area for icing is across interior parts of western Maine, particularly near the Lakes Region, through central Maine. Ice accretion of a quarter inch or more is possible in spots. This shouldn't be enough for damage or power outages, but it is more than enough to create icy roads and tricky travel.
