PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) — Children love to play but cold temperatures force Mainers indoors leaving many parents searching for creative ways to keep kids active and stipulated inside.
One option on Friday, Dec 7, will be free at the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to honor the children and victims of Sandy Hook.
This is the sixth year the museum has held the Joyful Children's Day and offered free admission.
Joyful Children’s Day started in the wake of the devastating events at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut and aims at honoring the children of Sandy Hook Elementary and children everywhere, say Museum officials.
Joyful Children’s Day is about focusing on giving children positive, community-based, enriching, and joyful experiences to help combat trauma, stress and fear.
