AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A high school basketball player from Auburn who inspired people across the country has died, the school confirms.

Josh Titus served as manager of the "Edward Little High School" team back in 2009, he also had autism.
When he got a chance to play in a game, he made the most of it by draining shot after shot, for nine points in all. Video of his shooting- spree went viral nationwide.
NEWS CENTER learned from the school that Josh died Wednesday after a brief battle with cancer.
"We will forever remember Josh's infectious smile, his love for basketball and the pride he had as the team manager for the Edward Little boy's varsity team and his involvement with the Maine McDonald's High School Senior All-Star Basketball games, his love for numbers and his desire to one day be an accountant, and the easy way he made friends and family feel special, " his family said in a statement Thursday.
The family also asked for privacy as they grieve the lose of their son.
