ROME, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A ground-breaking ceremony will be held later Tuesday for what will be an all-inclusive retreat for veterans and their families in the town of Rome.

The Travis Mills Foundation bought the historic Elizabeth Arden Estate with plans to rehab the house and create a place for wounded warriors to stay.

The foundation hopes to create the nation's first fully accessible, "smart home," where combat-wounded veterans can recover and participate in recreational activities.

First Lady, Ann LePage, will join Retired staff-sargent Travis Mills for today's ceremony, which marks the start of a two year process to restore the 86-year-old property.

Maine's First Lady Ann LePage will join retired Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills at the groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of the restoration project at Arden's former home in Rome on Tuesday.
