Welcome to the world, Leif! MaineHealth welcomes its first baby of 2024

Leif’s parents, Kayleigh MacFarlane and Cameron Miller of Union, said they were excited for Leif to join his 2-year-old sister, Ember.

DAMARISCOTTA, Maine — MaineHealth welcomed its first baby of the new year at 1:21 a.m. Monday, when Leif MacFarlane was born at LincolnHealth in Damariscotta. 

Leif weighed 7 pounds, 9.8 ounces and was 19.5 inches long, according to a release from the health system.

Leif’s parents, Kayleigh MacFarlane and Cameron Miller of Union, said they were excited for Leif to join his 2-year-old sister, Ember.

“He came precisely when he meant to,” Kayleigh MacFarlane said in the release.

MaineHealth hospitals with birthing centers include Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, LincolnHealth in Damariscotta, Maine Medical Center in Portland, Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast, and Memorial Hospital in North Conway, New Hampshire.
