CORNISH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Officials are investigation a brush fire that torched almost two acres of land behind a home in Cornish.
Firefighters say the fire started behind a home on North Road in Cornish, and quickly spread.
Crews were able to get the fire under control before it damaged any property.
Officials say they are working with the owner of the home to determine the cause of the fire, and will continue to monitor the area. They continued to say that with the fire danger as high as it has been, Mainers should think twice before burning anything.
North road was closed while fire fighters were on scene, but t has since been reopened.
