STANDISH, Maine — A man from Baldwin is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in Standish Tuesday night.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office and Standish Fire/Rescue responded to the area of 515 Manchester Rd. just after 5:30 p.m. for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
An investigation revealed a red 2017 Subaru Legacy driven by 55-year-old Esther Lindscog of Baldwin was headed north on Manchester Road when the vehicle struck 54-year-old William Hood of Baldwin, the sheriff's office said.
Baldwin was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The sheriff's office reconstruction team is working to reconstruct the crash. Maine State Police are also investigating the incident, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.

Manchester Road is shut down to traffic due to the crash. As of 10 p.m., emergency crews were still at the scene.
No further information has been released.
