Enfield couple arrested for selling Oxycodone accepted EBT cards as payment

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a couple from Enfield accused of selling Oxycodone from their home and accepting EBT cards as payment.

ENFIELD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a couple from Enfield accused of selling Oxycodone from their home and accepting EBT cards as payment.

Scott Lord, 51, and Ann Lord, 46, were arrested on Wednesday, according to a public information officer for the state of Maine.

MDEA agents had been investigating the couple for the past several months. Agents suspected the married couple were selling Oxycodone out of their mobile home at 25 Pierce Road.

MDEA agents, assisted by the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office and State Police, searched the mobile home on Wednesday night. Police say they seized over 80 Oxycodone pills and $9,000 of suspected drug proceeds.

Police say they also discovered 8 Maine EBT cards, none of which belonged to the couple. Police say it is common for EBT cards to be accepted as payment in drug transactions.

The Lords are being held at the Penobscot County Jail on $5,000 each. Their first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
