Officials identify driver in fatal Berwick rollover crash

Police believe excessive speed to be the primary cause of the crash.

Police have identified the driver who died in a rollover crash in Berwick on Sunday.

Benjamin English, 19, of Berwick, died at the scene after the 2012 Ford Fiesta he was driving left the roadway, hit trees, and rolled over, Berwick police said in a Facebook post.

The single-vehicle crash occurred in the area of 135 Long Swamp Rd., according to police.

"Excessive speed is believed to be the primary cause of the crash," the post stated.

Berwick police said the crash is being reconstructed by the Gorham Police Department. The crash remains under investigation.
