The council in Madawaska has already made its recommendation regarding Father Audibert.It hasn't been made public. The council in Saint Agatha is expected to make its recommendation about Father Michael Doucette this Sunday. Sue Bernard of the Portland Diocese says Bishop Gerry will not force a community to retain a priest it doesn't want. He could remove the priests even if the councils want them to stay.

Both priests, Father John Audibert and Father Michael Doucette sexually abused children more than 20-years ago. Bishop Joseph Gerry has sought the recommendations of the pastoral councils in the parishes where the priests now serve.
