GRAY, Maine — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash that involved two tractor-trailers and an SUV in Gray Friday night.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., deputies and Gray emergency personnel responded to the area of 81 West Gray Road (Route 115) for a crash involving multiple vehicles, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
An initial investigation revealed a 2018 Nissan Rogue driven by 20-year-old Kameron Dupra of Gorham was headed east on West Gray Road when it crossed the center line while passing another vehicle, the sheriff's office said. The Nissan struck a Volvo tractor-trailer owned by Frito-Lay that was headed in the opposite direction, then the Nissan also crashed into a Freightliner tractor-trailer owned by Walmart headed east. The Nissan reportedly came to a stop in the ditch.
All vehicles involved were significantly damaged, the release stated.
Dupra was brought to Maine Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.
The sheriff's office said Dupra was operating on a suspended driver's license and alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
The crash closed West Gray Road for an extended period of time and remains under investigation.
Multiple agencies assisted with the crash, including the Maine Environmental Protection Agency due to diesel fuel contamination at the site.
