Crash shuts down Route 4 in Alfred

Central Maine Power reported at least 1,400 customers without power in the area as of 5:50 p.m.

ALFRED, Maine — A portion of Route 4 in Alfred has reopened after closing Thursday due to a crash, officials say. 

York County dispatchers confirmed the crash and road closure with NEWS CENTER Maine during rush hour Thursday evening. 

As of 5:50 p.m., Central Maine Power was reporting approximately 1,400 customers without power in the area, including Lyman, Waterboro, Shapleigh, and Sanford. Power has since been restored, according to CMP's website.
