BANGOR, Maine — A man from Penobscot was sentenced in Bangor Tuesday on drug trafficking charges.
Christopher Beaucage, 38, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor to five years in prison and four years of supervised release, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Maine.
In October 2021, a Bucksport police officer reportedly stopped Beaucage and an alleged coconspirator and searched the vehicle, discovering roughly 60 grams of fentanyl.
Beaucage was arrested on outstanding warrants after he admitted the drugs belonged to him, the release said.
"While he was incarcerated, monitored and recorded phone calls revealed that Beaucage and others continued to engage in drug trafficking activities," according to the release. "Details discussed included traveling out of state to meet with a source, the prices of the narcotics and distributing fentanyl to customers in Maine."
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bucksport Police Department.
