The judge in Ashton Moores' 2009 murder trial found him guilty of murder, rejecting the argument of  his lawyers that someone else could possibly have killed Christina Simonin

Moores began his prison sentence in 2009 after being convicted of the murder and sexual assault of Christina Simonin. She was found dead in a Bangor parking lot in March 2007. Her body had been tied up and placed in a bag.

Christina Simonin was 43 years old when she was murdered in Bangor in March 2007

Police said Simonin had been living with Moores. The evidence they collected was used by prosecutors at trial to support their conclusions that Moores first raped Simonin and beat her to death.
