UPDATE: The victims have been identified as 34-year-old old Maiysha Somers-Jones, 10 year-old Isis Doe and her brother, 8-year-old Zebulon Doe.
Somer-Jones is the girlfriend of the children's father, who was not home at the time of the fire.
Maine State Public Safety says there were no working smoke detectors in the home on Bradbury Street.
The fire was called at 10 p.m. by neighbors. When firefighters entered the home they found a boy and a girl in the upstairs bedroom.
The children were taken out of the house but were unable to be resuscitated. They found the woman in a first floor bedroom. Crews from several towns responded. NEWS CENTER spoke with a neighbor.
"My heart is broken it really is I didn't sleep all night I just came back from voting I stopped by to see the Pastor at the Church. It's just my heart is really heavy today. Very sad day" said Holly Garrett.
The bodies are being taken to the State Medical Examiners office for autopsies.
Five Fire Marshal Investigators are still on scene here trying to determine the cause of that fire.
OLD TOWN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — One adult and two children are dead as a result of a fire on Bradbury Street in Old Town, according to the State Fire Marshal's Office.
Several crews are still on the scene. Crews from several towns responded to the scene including Old Town, Milford, Bradford, Bangor, and others.
The fire was up to two alarms late Monday night.
Another adult was not home at the time of the fire, officials said.
"It came in as a confirmed structure fire our guys arrived on scene. Had heavy fire blowing through the garage and into the house and they were quickly told that they had entrapment people trapped inside...They did a great attack, they did a great search and rescue. We were actually able to remove some of the people from the building. The fire was just too large and the smoke was too heavy" said Old Town Fire Chief Steve O'Malley.
To give you an idea of the response, the Old Town Fire Chief said when the “fire bells go off in Old Town they also go off in Milford and Orono at the same time”.
