BOSTON, Mass. (Marc Fortier/NECN) -- A local resident received approval this week to open Boston's first cat cafe in Brighton.

According to the Boston Globe, Diane Kelly of Hull, Massachusetts is planning to open "PURR Cat Cafe" on Chestnut Hill Avenue this April.

A feline rescue organization will provide the cats that will occupy the shop, which will also be able to accommodate up to 40 people. Customers will pay an hourly fee of $15, which includes wireless internet access.

Though this would be the first ever cafe in Boston, they've been a hit in other cities like New York, Chicago and San Francisco.
