ALFRED, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — The man accused of murdering 30-year-old Jonathan Methot of Biddeford last Monday made his first appearance in court Monday.
Twenty-year-old Timothy Ortiz of Brooklyn, New York, did not enter a plea. His attorney said that they don't have enough information to argue on bail yet either.
Ortiz had already been held at the Cumberland County Jail since Monday, Sept. 26, for a probation violation out of New York on aggravated sex trafficking and drug charges.
He was then charged with the murder of Methot and transferred to the York County Jail on Friday.
Members of Methot's family were in court day but did not wish to speak.
Methot was shot in his home. He lived with his mother and leaves behind an 8-year-old son.
Ortiz will continue to be held at the York County Jail without bail.
