BERWICK, Maine — Police are conducting a suspicious death investigation after a man from New Hampshire was found dead in Berwick on Friday.
Berwick police responded to Rochester Street on Friday around noon for a man who was located deceased face-down in a ditch on the side of the road, according to a news release from the Berwick Police Department.
The Berwick Fire Department, York Police Department, and Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit were called to the scene. Rochester Street was shut down due to the incident.
The man's body was brought to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy scheduled for Saturday morning, police said. The man was identified as 26-year-old Kyle Lang of Rochester, New Hampshire.
Berwick police said Lang had last been seen at approximately 10 p.m. Thursday night and was believed to have been walking to Rochester, New Hampshire from the area of Jordan Street. Family members had reported Lang missing Friday morning and had been looking for him, according to police.
A motor vehicle is believed to have been involved in the incident and was impounded by the New Hampshire State Police after it was found in Rochester, New Hampshire.
