Two killed in Bangor crash following pursuit with law enforcement

The crash closed a portion of Finson Road near Broadway in Bangor Monday morning.

BANGOR, Maine — Police are investigating a crash that claimed the lives of two people Monday morning in Bangor after their vehicle had been involved in a pursuit with law enforcement shortly before. 

The Bangor Police Department said in a news release 39-year-old Noah Mushero of Bangor and 39-year-old Sheena Soctomah-Rolfe of Orono died in a crash on Finson Road around 9:30 a.m. Police said their vehicle left the roadway at a high rate of speed and struck a tree. Both individuals reportedly died unattended at the scene. 

The vehicle Mushero and Soctomah-Rolfe were traveling in had been involved in a pursuit with the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office shortly before the crash, police said. 

The Bangor Police Department, Maine State Police, and Penobscot County Sheriff's Office are investigating the crash. 

Finson Road was closed from Broadway to Davis Road due to the crash, but has since reopened. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
