BANGOR, Maine
(NEWS CENTER) --- Towns and cities across Maine are kept safe each day thanks to the many men and women in law enforcement. On Wednesday students at Husson University in Bangor got to explore job opportunities in that field.
The school of legal studies at the university hosted its fourth annual career fair. The event was a chance for students to meet with agencies from across the state to explore internships and job openings in criminal justice. Staff at the school say those opportunities includes positions in forensic science as well as para-legal work.
Law enforcement is a career field that several students in attendance said they hope to get into.
"I always knew that I wanted to help people after college..that's just something I've always liked doing," said Nick Sterling, who is a senior at Husson, "and what I want to do after college..well I really want to work at the local level or the state level..those are my two biggest main interests right now."
The fair was also open to professionals currently looking for jobs in law enforcement.
In all about 30 police agencies attended.
