Police: 24-year-old Brewer man dies in Bangor motorcycle crash

BANGOR, Maine — A 24-year-old Brewer man is dead following a motorcycle crash Saturday night in Bangor. 

Bangor police responded to the scene at approximately 10:45 p.m., according to a news release from the Bangor Police Department. 

After an initial investigation, police determined 24-year-old Drew Baker of Brewer was headed out of the downtown area and reportedly made an incomplete right turn from Harlow Street onto Kenduskeag Avenue. 

Police said the motorcycle struck construction scaffolding after crossing into the oncoming lane and leaving the roadway. 

Baker was reportedly found dead at the scene. 

At the time of the crash, police said he was Facetiming on his cell phone and was not wearing a helmet. 

Police said an autopsy will determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
