Maine State Police bomb team responds to residence in Milford

State police said there was no danger to the public, but traffic was diverted while emergency crews were processing the scene at a home on Call Road.

MILFORD, Maine — The Maine State Police Bomb Team responded to a residence in Milford on Friday. 

Traffic was diverted for several hours in the area of Call Road. 

Emergency officials closed the road from Main Road to Pheasant Hill Trailer Park while crews responded to the residence, Milford Fire and Rescue shared shortly before 4:30 p.m. on their social media page. 

The agency said Pine Street off County Road was still accessible for traffic at that time. 

Milford Fire and Rescue said updates about the incident would be handled by Maine State Police. 

State police said there was no danger to the public, but crews there were processing the area for "potential hazardous devices," the agency shared in a post on their social media page at 6 p.m. 

At about 9:25 p.m., Maine State Police posted on social media the bomb team had declared the scene all clear. Shortly after 10 p.m., Milford Fire and Rescue issued an update stating Call Road had reopened.
