BANGOR, Maine — A crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Bangor caused lane and exit closures for several hours Tuesday morning.
The crash involved a tractor-trailer and several other vehicles shortly before 9 a.m. in the northbound lane near Exit 183, according to Maine State Police.
The passing lane had reopened to traffic by about 10 a.m., according to a post on Facebook, but Exit 1B on I-395 westbound was still shut down.
"The initial investigation indicates the driver of a tractor-trailer was traveling northbound when the vehicle went off the road to the left and struck cables in the median," Maine State Police said in a post on X. "The tractor-trailer operator, 45-year-old Lenin Martinez of Pennsylvania was able to regain control and crossed both lanes of travel to get to the breakdown lane where he stopped."
Troopers said due to the tractor-trailer coming to a stop, traffic behind the truck halted and a secondary crash ensued involving two vehicles.
"One of the vehicles was blocking the right lane of travel at the intersection where I-395 merges with I-95," state police said. "I-395 traffic was detoured to avoid congestion at the scene of the crash."
As of 1:30 p.m., the crash scene was cleared.
No injuries were reported, state police said.
